Randeep Wadehra: A Life of Courage, Writing and Reinvention

From a life-changing setback to becoming a journalist, blogger and novelist, Randeep Wadehra proves that the power of the mind can never be limited by circumstances.

-

At the age of 70, Randeep Wadehra is an author, blogger, columnist and novelist based in Bengaluru. His life journey is a powerful example of courage, family support and the strength of the human spirit. From working as a bank officer at a young age to becoming bedridden, and later building a successful journey in journalism and literature, Randeep has continued to find new ways to express himself and connect with people.

His story is not only about the challenges he faced. It is about how he chose to move forward and create a new life through the power of words.

A Childhood Shaped by Literature

Randeep grew up in a family where literature had an important place. His father was a retired Indian Air Force officer with a strong interest in English and Urdu literature. He also wrote Urdu poetry. His mother enjoyed Punjabi and Hindi literature.

As the eldest of four siblings, Randeep spent his school years in different parts of India before completing his schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Hebbal, Bengaluru. He later completed his B.Com from R.C. College of Commerce, Bengaluru, followed by an M.Com from Himachal Pradesh University.

During his younger years, he was also interested in sports. He played hockey, cricket, badminton and table tennis and trained in boxing. He even dreamed of joining the Indian Army.

A Career That Changed Suddenly

At the age of 23, Randeep joined the State Bank of Travancore as a Probationary Officer. He had recently married and was beginning a promising professional life.

Then, life took an unexpected turn.

Randeep became 100% physically handicapped and bedridden. His marriage ended, his banking career came to an abrupt stop, and the responsibility of caring for him fell on his ageing parents and sisters. He also underwent two major surgeries, but they did not provide the improvement he had hoped for.

It was a difficult period, but Randeep found a new direction.

Writing Became His New Strength

While spending much of his time bedridden, Randeep started writing articles for newspapers. His father supported him during the early stage by helping him take his articles to newspaper offices.

His writing gradually reached a wider audience. He became a regular freelance columnist for The Tribune, Chandigarh, where he wrote lead articles and reviewed books and television programmes.

His articles also appeared in publications such as The Times of India, The Indian Express, Tehelka and Financial World.

His subjects included politics, defence, geopolitics, national affairs and international issues.

His father also became his writing partner on some articles. Together, they worked on subjects connected with politics, defence and strategic affairs. This father-son partnership became an important part of Randeep’s writing journey.

Starting Again Through Blogging and Fiction

After the passing of his parents, Randeep faced another major change in his life. His association with newspaper journalism also came to an end.

But he did not stop writing.

He moved towards blogging, poetry, vlogging and fiction writing. In October 2024, Randeep and his two sisters moved to Bengaluru. His sisters have continued to support him and encourage him to become more self-dependent while continuing his creative work.

Over the years, writing became more than a profession for Randeep. It became a way to share his thoughts, explore society and create new worlds through imagination.

AGNI – The Voice of Revolution

Randeep Wadehra’s first novel, AGNI – The Voice of Revolution, takes readers into the fictional Republic of Dhundhara, where people live under an authoritarian system ruled by fear and violence.

The story centres on Senator Agni, a strong woman who wants justice for the death of her parents. Another important character, Sankat, leads an underground resistance against the corrupt system.

As their paths come together, the novel explores revolution, justice, political power, truth, morality and resistance.

The story makes readers think about an important question: when a system becomes unfair, should people remain silent or stand up against it?

AGNI – The Voice of Revolution is therefore not only a political story. It is also a story about courage, pain, justice and the choices people make in difficult times.

OMNI Protocol – The Last Algorithm

Randeep’s second novel, OMNI Protocol – The Last Algorithm, takes readers into a futuristic world where technology appears to have solved many of humanity’s problems.

The city of Lythara seems perfect. Crime has disappeared, poverty has been eliminated and conflict is no longer common. But there is a hidden cost. People are monitored, their futures are controlled and their identities can potentially be changed.

The story follows Teesha, a systems analyst who discovers unusual information within the system. Her investigation leads her to Angad, an engineer with no known past.

As Teesha searches for the truth, she discovers something that can threaten the entire system.

The novel explores technology, artificial intelligence, surveillance, identity, freedom and human choice.

It asks a simple but powerful question: if people have to give up their freedom to live in a perfect world, is that world really perfect?

Two Novels with One Common Theme

Although AGNI – The Voice of Revolution and OMNI Protocol – The Last Algorithm have very different stories, both books explore the idea of freedom.

AGNI looks at freedom through politics, power and revolution. OMNI Protocol looks at freedom through technology, surveillance and control.

Both books encourage readers to question the systems around them and think about the value of personal choice.

This also connects with Randeep’s own life. When circumstances changed beyond his control, he found another way to remain independent through his thoughts and writing.

A Journey That Inspires

The life story of Randeep Wadehra is a reminder that a difficult chapter does not have to become the final chapter.

He began his career as a young bank officer. After a life-changing setback, he entered journalism and became a columnist. Later, he explored blogging, poetry and vlogging. At the age of 70, he has also entered the world of published fiction with two novels.

His journey shows the importance of resilience, family support, creativity and new beginnings.

For readers, his story carries a simple message: life may change our plans, but we can still choose what we create from the situation we are given.

Randeep Wadehra has created that new path through words.

His journey from banking to journalism, from journalism to blogging, and from blogging to novel writing is a story of continuous reinvention.

His two novels now allow his ideas to reach a wider audience and open conversations about justice, freedom, politics, technology and human choices.

A Message of Courage

Randeep’s life reminds us that limitations do not always define a person’s future. His physical circumstances changed dramatically, but his curiosity, thoughts and imagination continued to grow.

His story is therefore not simply about overcoming a setback. It is about finding purpose again.

From newspaper columns to books, from difficult days to new dreams, Randeep Wadehra continues to prove that there is always room for another beginning.

Life may have limited his movement, but it never limited his imagination.
